WANTED MORE MORPHOLOGISTS RATHER THAN ANALYZERS

Every pathological laboratory must have a good morphologist. The following are the advantages of having a good morphologist :
- To pick up leukaemic cells in the perihpheral smear (can be missed on histogram).
- To pick up abnormal lymphocytes to diagnose infectious mononucleosis (often missed on histogram).
- To see the morphology of RBC in the urine to locate the site of disease - whether kidney or bladder.
Finally, a good morphologist will pick up MPs, LDs, and other parasites in the peripheral smear.
