HOW DOES ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE HELP MIGRAINE PATIENTS?O P Kapoor

Often migraine patients go for an alternative medicine like homoeopathy, ayurveda or acupuncture, only when they start getting very frequent attacks of migraine or when they develop status migrainous.
It is worth noting that excessive use of aspirin, caffeine and the other analgesics can produce sustained headache.
Also ergot preparations can lead to severe ergot headaches. Even the latest drug sumatriptan if used by the patient more than 2 times a week can produce headaches. Thus these migraine patients cannot get rid of the headacher because they are iatrogenic.
The first thing which any doctor of alternative medicine does is to abuse allopathic medicine and asks the patient to stop all the drugs. In the next few days the patient recovers irrespective of what type of alternative medicine or complimentary medicine he has received and gives credit to the doctor. These were iatrogenic headaches which disappeared, because all the drugs were omitted!!
All allopathic doctors while treating the migraine headaches should note about these facts. Migraine affects nearly 30% of the population.
